New York Practicing to be a Grandma in the Future ~ Buffalo, New York Nanny Seeking ~ I am a fit energetic 47 year old empty nest mom. Due to family dynamics I am starting a new life in Buffalo, New York. I have raised two boys involved in music lessons, premier competitive soccer, scouts, cross country, swimming, baseball, science fairs, math clubs, student government and college. I have tutored ACT. I was trained in CPR and, unfortunately, have given CPR. I have been a coach (9yrs.), referee and competitive team manager so I understand the demands of competitive level sports. I love the outdoors and am a seasoned traveler with children. I look forward to being a Grandma. Until that time comes I will be content caring for others' children. I want to work for someone who believes children need happy but moderately structured life. Playing outdoors in a mud puddle or a walk in the woods is as important as exposure to the arts. In a very remote rural area, I built and owned an educational supply store for ten years before I sold it, then worked as a regional naturalist for almost five years for the state of Missouri. My responsibilities for the naturalist position included many outdoor adventures with large or small groups of children on trail, in caves, canoeing, kayaking, dutch oven cooking, camping and backpacking. I am fiscally conservative, socially moderate with nondenominational Christian faith. I respect the spritual choices of a family and believe they need to be supported; spiritual challenges or confusion from children need redirected to and from parents. I look forward to the opportunity to care for your children. I have two sons. One will be playing for a local Buffalo college. I would like to see as many games as possible and would be happy to take children to watch the games. I have a gift of casual hospitality; pickup games, pajama parties or backyard campouts don't scare me. I have a loud voice but a kind heart. Kids figure that out real quick. I love playing board games, challenging puzzles, snowy night jigsaws or rainy cuddling in for a movie. I am not perfect but own my mistatkes so that I will try never to revisit them. My favorite ages are 2-10. I have some experience understanding and coping with special needs.
