Nanny Seeking ~ Hi Family, I'm a 24 year old, University graduate who's currently working as a Nanny to two children, 5 & 7, in London. I have excellent references and experience with 3 month babies right through to teenage girls. I'm extremely hard working, responsible, organized and motivated. I don't work much during term time (they are 5 and 7) as they are in school, so I do lots of extra babysitting for other families but during the holidays I absolutely take control. I write out itineraries for them and every day they are either at a museum, having picnics, going climbing, visiting art galleries, visiting childrens activities or having playdates. I do a lot of cooking with them (my families always love my cooking skills) and we make pizza from scratch as well as loads of baking. I give them a varied diet with lots of healthy snacks and I always ensure they eat all their dinner before they are allowed any type of treat. I am fairly strict with them which is something their parents back up. I believe in good manners and being well behaved. I do star charts for them and rewards are usually little things like beads which they can use in arts and crafts. I don't usually let them watch television unless they are super tired after school or if they have earned it with excellent behavior. Lucia is a great fit if: 1) you and your spouse speak spanish (her english is poor), 2) are raising you child bilingual and looking for a native spanish speaker, 3) looking for a trustworthy and mature, but playful person. Lucia started with us when our daughter was just 2 months old (she is now 14 months) and Lucia has quickly become part of the family. She was initially recommended by a close friend who had her as a nanny for close to 20 years when her children were young. Lucia is loving, caring and teaches our daughter new things everyday - she loves to get on the ground and play with our daughter at her level, which has really helped fastforward her development. She works for us full time (8:30am to 5:30pm, M-F) and is completely trustworthy. She does light house work, makes home cooked meals for our daughter, and is available to stay late during the week or stay overnight if needed. She is originally from Colombia, but with 25 years in the US and has just recently became a naturalized US citizen. She is 60 years old (with the energy of someone half her age) and is very trustworthy. She lives in Woodside, Queens with her extended family of sisters, nephews, etc. Lucia is able to travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn, wherever needed. While she is a US citizen, she does not speak English, so a Spanish on your end is essential. As you can tell, we have nothing but good things to say about Lucia and would be happy to speak in more detail with anyone who is interested.
