Nanny Seeking ~ I am a mother and wife and I have 3 grown children of my own. My two oldest children are college graduates and the youngest is still attending college. I recently was working for a professional couple that had two children. Their son is now 4 and their daughter is 2. The family moved to Chattanooga, TN. I moved to Tennessee with them until they could find another nanny. I also helped interview nannies for them. The other family I worked for had two little girls ages 4 and 2. I began keeping these children when the oldest was an infant. They moved to Michigan and I immediately went to work again for the family I noted above. They both will give me glowing references and was very happy with the care I gave their children. I am also a Christian woman and my husband is a pastor. I am a non- smoker. As far as disciplining I use time outs or just sitting the child down and letting them know what they have done wrong and why it's not acceptable. If the parents have a discipling technique I will also do whatever they want me to do. I don't mind keeping children that are sick. I don't mind giving them medicine or breathing treatments. The last children I kept the little girl had a lot of allergies. I had to make sure that I read all labels and didn't give her anything that would harm her. I took the kids to preschool and picked them up from school. I did some light housework and washed clothes for the parents. I will change bed linens if they get soiled during the day. I cooked for the children some days for lunch. The parents didn't ask me to do these small chores but I wanted too. I was a working mother when my kids were small and I had a hard time finding a nanny myself and I just feel for moms that have to work or want to work. I will become an addition to your family and also be a great "mom" addition to your children. I worked at Westwood Baptist Daycare and Kindergarten for 3 yrs before the daycare closed last May and we all were laid off. Right now my husband and I have part-time custody of a 2 year old little boy and I also watch my youngest nephew who is 5 months old 3 days a week. So I decided instead of not being able to keep them anymore that I should start caring for children in my home. I'm planning to work Mon-Fri 6am-6pm unless other arrangements are made. I'm very flexible. My charge is either $25 a day up to 2 days or $90 a week. I won't charge a registration fee but but you will pay a week ahead so if for any reason you decide not to bring your child anymore the last week you won't have to pay.
